Introduction

Implementing new programs is a critical element for organizations to grow in this ever changing global environment. This involves making changes which can be difficult for any organization. However planning and implementing are steps that an organization must execute over portions of their lifetime if they are to remain viable and not becoming obsolete. According to Robbins and Judge (2007) “More and more organizations today face a dynamic and changing environment. This in turn, is requiring these organizations to adapt. “Change or die” is the rallying cry among today’s managers worldwide”.

In this paper we will be examining the principal’s roles in the school organization, describing the vice principal’s job description, and planning and implementing a computer programme in a school, as well as propose a budget that we believe could finance the programme. The paper will also expound on the principal’s role in leading the change and discussing critical elements in the change process. Finally, we will develop a personnel development activity to improve the computer literacy of teachers at the school.

Institution Background

Maredoc Primary is located in rural St James. It has been in existence for over 30 years.
