Introduction

I. Attention Step

A. Who here knows a child in need or has a child that’s received medical care from Lurie children’s hospital?

B. Today I will go over the organization and its services, ways you can be involved, and most importantly the differences made in the children’s lives.

C. We all wanted to be a hero at some point in our life, or do a good deed, so here is our chance.

D. I am credible to talk about this topic since at my job we raised over $96,000 for the organization. I have met a few patients and have done extensive research.

Transitional Sentence: So to begin, let’s start with learning about the hospital itself.

II. Need Statement

A. In the fiscal year of 2014, Lurie cared for more children than any other pediatric hospital or system in Illinois. From providing the best medical attention, a large amount of money was spent.

C. Majority of family service and all children service are funded through philanthropic support.

D. Since the organization depends primarily on support and donations, the only way for it to keep advancing and running is if we keep giving.

Transitional Sentence: In order for improvements within the hospital, we have to be the ones to back it up with our support, here’s how we do so.

III. Satisfy the Need

A. What I want you to do is to give either a money donation, item donation and/or volunteer.

B. By giving, you’re not just helping the child, but also the family.
