Whether Chinese should accept western holidays? At present, western holidays are gaining increasing popularity in China. Christmas and Thanksgiving are popular, especially among young people. But whether Chinese should accept these holidays has become a subject of heated discussion. Others think that the western holidays threaten a kind of cultural aggression. And some people think that Chinese needs to accept western cultures so as to blend into the world. Chinese should accept western holidays in China in order to it will increase affection, improve communication of world and promote the development of economy.

To begin with, western holidays can also be like traditional Chinese festivals increase people’s affection and friendship. When Chinese festivals arrived, Chinese celebrate the festival together by family reunion. Like the Spring Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, through have dinner to celebrate the holiday, and even singing and dancing. As is known to all that Christmas Day, is the most important holiday in the western world, although it is almost certainly not the day on which Jesus Christ was born. The celebration usually includes an exchange of cards and presents among relatives and friends, decking the sitting room out with a Christmas tree, and a feast featuring a turkey or a goose. People can take advantage of this moment to entertain others, get together and extend their greetings each other. Now and then the social conditions being changed, almost people don’t have other time to go together for relationship and friends. Nowadays, Chinese have more time to increase people’s affection and friendship.

Furthermore, western holidays in China can improve the communication between Chinese and westerners.
