What better way to start a meal than with a bowl of pasta, delicately sauced or tossed with other flavorful ingredients? Pasta takes so many forms that there is always something appropriate to serve. Pasta is a fresh or dried food that originated in Italy. It is made from dough, usually of flour, water, and eggs and it is produced in a variety of shapes and form. Pasta is a delicious meal for everyone around the world and you can eat it anytime and anywhere you want.

Pasta apparently originated in China and was brought by Marco Polo to Italy in the 13th century but many people say that Pasta already existed in Italy way before it existed in China. Many different countries made their own kind and shared it with all of us. Pasta in Ancient Greek was called “Laganon” and it had broad noodles while in the 1st century, Pasta in Rome was called “Lagana”. In the 5th century, Arabs had their own Pasta and it was called “Itriyah” which were dried noodles. There are now more kinds of pasta as this type of food traveled around the world. We might not be sure where Pasta was invented but Italians made this food into the kind that we all love to eat. Basic pasta noodles are made of flour, water, and sometimes eggs and it is made into many different forms and shapes. There were long flat ones like Fettuccine and Linguine, there are the spiral or coil-shaped ones like Rotini and Fusilli and other ones like Penne, Lasagna, Spaghetti, Ravioli, Tortellini, and Rigatoni. However, before flavoured noodles were invented, the traditional, but famous, kind of noodles tastes plain and bland and so it is covered with flavorsome sauce. There are many different kinds of sauces; there is the Alfredo sauce, Pesto Sauce, Marinara sauce, Tomato sauce, and Meat or Vegetable sauce. And the pasta and sauce is topped with cheese or any kind of garnish that compliments with the food.
