The authors in this report use population projections and birth records from the state of Texas to simulate rising pregnancy rates among females ages 15-19 years old from 2005-2015. Sayegh, Castrucci, Lewis and Hobbs-Lopez explain how the changing demographics, differences in sexual activity and contraceptive failure will play an important role in the increase of adolescents most at risk for pregnancy.
