There might be several options for a manager to do to persuade the students to make sure this assignment is completed by the two week time period. The assignment states there are six students working during the summertime and the workers have gotten used to the easy assignments and job pace, so this the next two weeks will probably be the hardest any of them have worked, maybe ever.

As a college student I can honestly say what would motivate me the most is one of two things when it comes to my job. Money or paid time off. Since it is college students, the supervisor could offer the students some different options if the job is completed on time. First I would give the workers/students between the choices of the two options; either a lump sum of taxed money as a bonus or an amount of paid time off (which is taxed anyways). If this is offered to the students, as a supervisor I would make it extremely clear to the workers that both of these are only options if the job gets done and is shipped on time. Another motivator for the college students could be a substantial raise of hourly wages.

Making sure the college students, whom have gotten adjusted to working at a leisurely pace, do not become fatigued from high amounts of physical work the supervisors will have to offer multiple breaks throughout the work day. Supervisors will also need to have water on the jobsite so the works do not become dehydrated. Supervisors in charge of the workers will need to keep an eye on the workers to make sure they are taking enough breaks, but also getting the work at hand done.
