Brief thoughts of US History
When reflecting upon our great Nation, there are at many times that we as a people need to take notice with current and past issues. Many issues have come to the attention of our congress and president of the two hundred years of our existence. Many of these issues that have come about such as social security, Medicaid, food stamps, taxes and many other issues. In the thought of a way to pursue a sense of betterment for our fellow American, has these issues actually brought about a sense of entitlement or dependency for our great people?
With the continued rise in all of the current programs that have been meant to better our great people, the question still remains, are these programs helping or hurting our people? Does our people become dependent or having a continued mindset of entitlement, after watching for years fellow Americans continue with such programs.
A complete review of the history in these programs only shows a consistent rise with these programs, if the people were continued to pursue all of these programs with no accountability then when does the actually helping come in? Meaning is the end point set for any individual to actually reduce or leave any of these programs? I think now, since leaving or reducing ones set path of any of these programs would in many viewpoints hurt or victimize such individuals or families.
We as a people do we continue in such wondering of programs for the so called greater good? Do we end them all and have the churches or private sector take over? Do we look at case by case and institute a clear path of reduction for all of these programs? Is it thru government education that will end the need or mindset for the programs?
If we as a country continue in this path are we not setting ourselves for a future of Cyprus, Argentina or recently such as Greece?
