Global Issues to Securing an Organization

Introduction

Security is important for any organization to thrive. In multinational organizations, there are many more issues to be concerned about when regarding security. An organization must look at many things concerning security in other countries, to include the laws and regulations of that country, what threats are possible, and how people’s cultures and ideas are in those nations. It is important to identify all security issues, legal issues, and ethical issues, while also looking at the cultural considerations when the branch of the organization is located in these nations. Proper documentation must be kept about possible threats, along with auditing done at these locations to ensure there are no breaches in security. There are many threats out there, and these threats must be considered by an organization when determining what nations to put branches in.

Security Issue Identification

There are many issues a multinational organization must consider when dealing with security. They must be concerned that there are no uniformed policies when it comes to laws, regulations, and privacy. The question must be looked at as to how to handle this, as in should a uniform organizational policy be created, or should each territory be dealt with on the local level. Dealing with it on a local level could lead to developing and maintaining multiple sets of policies, and could possibly lead to confusion and disaster. (Linkous, et al. 2009) It would be important to create a complete organizational policy that would be in compliance with most nation’s regulations, and making adjustments to fit the regulations of other nations.
