Traditional theories on leadership conceptualized leaders as “hero” actors who manage their organizational members towards achieving particular organizational objectives. More recent theories on leadership, e.g., transformational and charismatic leadership, are also based on the assumption that a single individual possesses all the leadership skills necessary for organizational success.
