With my 40 years on earth I was blessed to work in many different environments. I worked as an assistant manager for Hilton grand resorts at Sea world, I worked as a trauma technician for level I Trauma Ctr. also was a computer specialist/administered specialist for the US Army. On the jobs I did strong communication is what allowed everyday business to flow easily. In each and every one of my jobs we need to communicate with each other within our department and also with others outside our department. But for this orchestra of communication to work properly every business needs an organized and efficient conductor. Managers control the flow of communication and how communication will be received within your department. So is always key for manager to have his own style of how to keep staff informed of day-to-day activities. Before my many years of working in all the different types of sectors of work I found that managers even in the same department will transfer to same information but in very different ways. I also found that some of the styles are more effective than others. But no matter what style manager uses it is clear that without leaderships communication with staff it opens the door for confusion and miscommunications and lack of productivity. I can recall a couple my managers having totally two different styles of communication but both were equally effective. One manager style allows for immediate feedback from staff while the other style had to delay feedback. While each style allows the managers to give the maximum information necessary for staff to work and be more effective in their duties. I often wondered at the end of the day which one was more effective. I will be going to look at more detail about both of these manager’s communication styles.
