Patton-Fuller community Hospital must make itself aware of all of the networking systems used and the possibility of theft of information especially concerning the implications of HIPPA laws. Knowing which systems will allow the hospital networking to operate at its best capacity is essential to enhance patient care and day to day service.

The hospital has maintained their networking systems by using the Ethernet, cordless, and various networking systems for each bed within the hospital, however looking for latest systems as well as alternatives are the real key to remain effective.

This would include a long term plan to upgrade all of their wired network to at a minimum fiber-optic speed but laying enough fiber optic lines to upgrade the speeds as technology becomes available and speeds increase as they inevitably will or simply to allow for increasing traffic.

The Ethernet uses a protocol named "Carrier Sense, Multiple Access, and Collision Detect" or CSMACD. “The "Multiple Access" part as it implies is that every station is linked to just one copper wire (or a group of cables which are linked together to create a sole data path).
