The Contribution of Social Issues in the Criminal Justice System
Our society has multiple needs that we unknowingly expect to be fulfilled throughout our lifetime, but we don’t realize that we are bigger than just our individual self. There is a total of 7.3 billion people on earth and with that comes a multitude of social issues that we all go through and deal with every day. Throughout this essay you are going to discover three very important topics of a wide variety of social issues to choose from. These three topics up for discussion are Violence Against Women, Youth in the Criminal Justice System, and last but not least Police brutality. These issues not only occur on a daily basis in multiple forms of media. In fact, we can see these issues occurring on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and etc.) and television.
Women in domestic, dating, and sexual violence relationships are in constant danger. The effects of violence in a relationship can cause not only the victim, but the people outside looking in to experience immeasurable pain. In 2007 a total of 248,300 rapes/sexual assaults occurred in the united states, and women are more likely than men to be victims of a domestic violence relationship. The epidemic of violence against women sadly doesn’t just stop at sexual and domestic. An average of 1,181 women are murdered by their significant other.
