    In this case assignment I am asked to answer the following question: What are the effects of ERP technology implementation changes on both production systems and non-production functions of the business such as culture? How are the production and non-production effects related to each other?

First let’s define what is ERP? Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems integrate internal and external management information across an entire company/business structure. ERP systems organize this activity with an integrated software application. ERP systems sync together entire organization’s operations such as accounting, finance, human resources, manufacturing and distribution, depending on the business organization. Besides, they also connect the organization to its customers and suppliers through the different phases of the product or the process life cycle. ERP is available from a wide array of vendors in a number of different forms to fill the needs of the different types and sizes of business or companies. Typically, an ERP structure uses or is integrated with a relational database system. The arrangement of an ERP system can involve substantial business process analysis, employee retraining, and new work procedures. The main goal of ERP is to make employees be more productive and efficient. In a nut shell the one the advantages I believe best describe they ERP system is that it gives real time view of data that can enable companies to address concerns proactively and make improvements and changes throughout the entire process.
