Case Study on group behavior
Analyze group behavior of the team. Study the informal & formal groups?
Here in this group it there is an effective structure where Suranjan Sircar is head of the team
along with Suresh Jayaraman & Punam Bandyopadhyay are Research Associates Vikas Pawar, Aparna Damle, Jaideep Chatterjee, and Amitava Pramanik as Research Scientists. Here most of the group mates were not doing their job well .
There is again an informal group among vikas, jaideep, aparna and amitava. We have alson seen that aparna takes away all the credit from Vikas, At one point jaideep and amitava became good friends and with Vikas about the situation and which will ultimately help him to move away from the target ,they always worked together and kept their personal differences aside to benifit the organization
so in the end we can see that, as the informal group has a grudge against the formal group. They delay in the task completion could not be successful because of the informal group working the other way around.
Point out flaws in the group & recommend solutions to overcome them?
Lack of sincerity among team mates --
First of all the group mates aren't serious towards their work. At first they were very sincere towards their work but later on because of the credit which is taken away from vikas by punam, Again Suresh, keeps avoiding his work and keeps himself busy in other things. However this problem can be solved if the authority, takes some hard steps and make it mandatory for the team to follow
Lack of required attitude -
The members of the team are not committed towards their work as we see in the case relating to punam and suresh. It could be because they are not motivated enough to properly lead the members so it is important that the leader follow appropriate steps to get his team to complete organizational tasks.
Solutions
Here first of all whatsoever conflict that exists among the group members should be taken care...
