Graduation Speech

Thank you so much Milford High School. Thank you for an absolutely amazing four years. People always say that high school is just the beginning and that college is ten times more amazing and all that great stuff. But I don’t care how amazing college is, I know that I’ll never forget the people I’ve met at Milford High. Tonight I congratulated and celebrated with many of my friends and some people I didn’t know. To all my friends, thank you for being some of the most amazing people to walk down the halls of MHS. And to those of you who I only got familiar with tonight and this past week, I wish that I would’ve gotten to know you sooner.

I’ve spent over an hour pouring through each and every single page of the yearbook. The autographs were my favorite part. It literally warms my heart to have such people in my life who value my existence and love me for who I am and I’m so thankful that I have people in my life that I can reciprocate that love towards. I wish that I could take each and every single person I’ve ever encountered at MHS, whether I’ve known them for 12 years or 2 months, and I wish I could take them aside and tell them how much I absolutely cherish their existence in my life, and that I only hope that I had the opportunity to make a fraction of an impact on their lives that they have on mine.

Milford is far from perfect. We have our delinquents and we have our troublemakers. People who make bad decisions and people who get caught at the wrong places at the wrong times. Yeah we have all that. But. We also have brilliant musicians and artists and athletes and mind numbing geniuses. We’re a collective group of people who amaze and inspire me, and I am forever humbled to be included in such a diverse and profound group. No, we are not perfect at all. But that’s precisely why I love our class. Because it makes us treasure and respect all the wonderful things we have even more so. It provides us with inspiration, and at times gives us...
