Homeschooling

There's no way around it: learning outside of a school environment can consume a lot of mom or dad's time. Most folks visualize that time being spent at the kitchen table with textbooks and worksheets, but for most families, that's not the case.

There are lots of discussion and debates are going on nowadays. In my opinion, if you don’t get the communication skills, you can’t do anything - make friends, get a job, have a relationship. They only know what their parents teach them.

An unsupportive family

* Family members may feel as though you are hurting your child by not enrolling them in a public school system

* Some homeschooled families receive ridicule about their ways

* If children are perceived as “smart” by family members, they think that the child needs to be placed into public schooling, however, couldn’t it be the parents who help make that child “smart”

Isolation/ Loneliness

* This can be through the child and the parents

* Parents are forced to devote their lives to their children through teaching them

* You may not receive a lot of support and encouragement for the teaching you

A pressure to succeed

* As a teacher/parent, you have pressure on you to succeed and prove to others that home schooling really does work.

* Dealing with the fact that everyone will not agree with what are you doing

* Getting stressed out and not taking it out on your children.

Not a Qualified teacher

* Some parents are not completely qualified to teach their children

* Some of them do not even have a college level education

* Some of the environment at home reflect this … some children are yelled at for not getting the correct answer, etc

Teaching several levels at once

* Parents feel overwheilmed to have to teach several levels of school at once and in one day.

* The children can stuggle because they have to wait to...
