During the past 25-35 years the world is developing very fast and one invention comes after another. But the inventions are not only there for the development of the society, they are mainly commercialized so that the creator benefits from the work he or she has been doing for the final form of the invention. So, the business world also improves and gets wider, making it harder and harder to be creative in the field. Some would agree that the huge intense the world is developing with is due to the intellectual property right protection systems and the ease to commercialize the invention or innovation. Previously, the inventions or creative ideas were taken from the society and “put” in the hands of the members of upper social levels. So, the ideas would fall into the hands of people who were not fully into the subject and couldn’t develop it further (in most cases). Let’s go deep into the term intellectual protection (ip) and the reasons why the innovator, the society and the economy of a country need it.

The intellectual protection concept is created to protect one’s expressions of ideas. As a person is a creative and miscellaneous creature, the ideas which come to his or her mind are very diverse and can’t be put under one format. So, different kinds of ip are being practiced all over the world. Some of them are design patents, utility patents, copyrights and trademarks. Patents are there to protect inventions in utility or design and copyrights protect artworks.

The ip protection concept doesn’t leave the business world without attention. Nowadays, almost every aspect of the modern life is being commercialized and turned into a business. So the ideas that turned into businesses should be protected from the outside usage. For this purpose, trademarks are used.
