Not only intelligent,but intrepid

--To Shylock Holmes

Although I have seen The final problem about Holmes in the film version. But my interest in it doesn’t fade at all. On the contrary, I even want to read the original work more.

At the first,I just think Holmes as an intelligent man with keen insight.Sometimes he is funny and fond of playing tricks on his old friend Watson. But he is a strange person at most time and even does experiments on Watson’s dog. I always think a clever person can’t have a brave mind at the same time.Because they can always think up good ideas and hlep themselves out of danger. But it is Holmes that made me change my prejudice totally.

Before discussing Holmes, let me introduce his adversary first.Moriarty, the math professor of an English college, has a samrt mind equal to Holmes. But I think he is more clever to some degree.Becasue he doesn’t have to consider others situation and can take advantage of all of his strenght to do what he wants to.And a question has troubled me for a long time--why criminals are always prefessor.Although he has already had a rich life, he is always thinking about crimes.Maye he is too idle! He only has accomplices rather than a true friend. But Holmes has Watson, the one who can even make sacrifices to help his friend. That’s a major reason that why Moriarty failed.

What made me most moved was that Watson left his new wife to help Holmes.A friend in need is a friend indeed, how important to have a true friend! And when Holmes jumped off the cliff with Moriarty together.I have a new understanding of the concept of hero.To protect the whole country, Holmes made sacrifices instead of using his intelligence out of danger. I have a respect for Holmes from the bottom of my heart. And I think that’s the very reason why so many people go crazy for him.He is just such a person which deserved all the reputation.

At last,I want to talk about the book...
