Professional Values and Ethics

Every company or business has to make important decisions every day. These decisions can have a financial impact on that company. These impacts can be positive and negative. Positive decisions can help the company make money and increase its overall values and standing in the business community. Professional values and ethics can impact the company as much as financial decisions can. If the company and or its employees make bad decisions on values and ethics it can hurt the company globally. Positive decisions on the matter can make the company look good as well as the employees that work there.

Most companies have their employees sign a values and ethics release when they are hired into the company. They want their employees to conduct themselves in a certain way when they are at work but also at times when they are outside of the company on their personal time. Employees represent themselves as an extension of the company that they work for. That can cause problems with the values and ethics on what the employee has the right to say or write when on their personal time. Companies depend on their employees for their success. Employees need check themselves when they are speaking and writing so that the company can’t come back and say that they conducted themselves in an inappropriate manner. Companies are not going to hire people that will make their company look or function badly in the business community.

Following company ethics and value guidelines can lead to success of the employee in the future of the company and beyond. It will also so the company that the employee is someone that they can trust and depend on to represent them even outside of the structure of the building in which they work.
