Task Four: General Motor
General Motors operates in a union environment. As the largest auto manufacturer in the world, General Motors has strived hard to satisfy consumers and workers through United Auto Workers (UAW)-the workers union with the development and implementation of (UAW), the voice of auto workers meant improved working conditions, job security, higher wage rates, paid health benefits, and cost of living allowances.
General Motors is “dedicated to seeking innovative ways to design their cars and adopting the Latest technology” as illustrated in the General Motor website

General Motors endeavors to produce a car that will drive its own self. They are leading in the use of mobile applications with incorporation of ‘’On Star’s Remote Link, to enhance driving experiences.
After the formation of General Motors and auto workers union, work conditions and worker’s benefits greatly improved, including the implementation of the “Alternative Work Arrangements including flexible schedules (flextime)”. The auto manufactories of USA, Puerto Rico, and Canada collectively shared in providing alternative work arrangements for its auto workers. . General Motors maintains an exclusive recruitment service partner of Seven Step Recruiting; (www.sevensteprpo.com) for all salaried recruiting and hiring activities in the Company’s North American operations. Seven-Step recruiting is further instrumental in increasing GM’s diversity hiring using clear measurement and accountability standards that for now focus on Hispanic candidates. In the spirit of minority employee participation, for all levels, GM recognized minority equal opportunity employment was an unmet social service.
