What a time to be alive

It is 10AM and the streets are jam packed, noise coming from every direction. The wind is dashing through the skyscrapers as I walk down 42nd street and a small gust eventually hits as you stroll on the rigid sidewalks. I pull out my phone and contribute to the massive constant stream of flashes that seem to surround you as I take a selfie at Time Square with about 1000 other people in the background. Huge screens and vibrant lights in every direction, which are advertising anything from Levis jeans to the new breakout movie of the month. Street dancers twirling and flaring in mid air in hope of some cash. I am quickly distracted by the tender aroma of freshly made hot dogs on every corner.

I decide to give in to the temptation of city hot dogs, that delicate bun and perfect meat blend that these people seem to have mastered making it worth the four-dollar price tag per hot dog. Topped off with mustard, ketchup and relish I really felt that there was no better place to eat a hot dog than in NYC. The voices of crowds quickly suppress the roar of planes. People brushing your shoulder on every block while others are flooding you with advertisement makes me want to scream as loud as I can with rage. Crowded intersections in your site as people wait patiently for that red light to go green leaving you boxed in. No matter where you look people from all over the world seem to be rushing to get through. Endless blocks of stores varying in size leave you dazed as you try to navigate through the ongoing traffic.

I stand in astonishment as I look up at the beautiful structures that shine so bright as the light bounces from window to window. I am quickly flooded with people dressed in costumes asking me to take a picture with them for money. Spiderman, Batman, Elmo and many other costumes almost make you forget that it isn’t Halloween.
