The most famous saying said by the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru is “To awaken the people, it is the women who must be awakened. Once she is on the move, the family moves, the village moves, the nation moves”. In India, to empower the women, first it needs to kill all the demons killing women’s rights and values in the society such as dowry system, illiteracy, sexual harassment, inequality, female infanticide, and domestic violence against women, rape, prostitution, illegal trafficking and other issues. Gender discrimination in the nation brings cultural, social, economic and educational differences which push country back. The most effective remedy to kill such devils is making women empowered by ensuring the Right to Equality mentioned in the Constitution of India.

Media plays a vital role in Women Empowerment and its development. Media can create an awakening inspiration to achieve their potential as prime source of change in the society, we live in.

All the television serials consist of female protagonists, which intend to show that women are capable of taking decisions in a strong and independent manner. They often highlight the plight and problems faced down by women, to show the society that what a women faces in daily life is no less tiring and troublesome than what man faces. There is widespread feeling amongst people that men are important unit because in a marriage because they earn money. Nevertheless, a woman gives birth to children, takes care of them and also helps to keep the house full functional and tidy. What is the point of earning money if you don’t have a home to come back to? Media shows us the effort put in by women to make sure that everyone is comfortable at home and that everything is looked after.
