In Bradbury “There Will Come Soft Rains” Bradbury suggest that humans do not necessarily have to depend on technology but Bradbury also strongly warns of the danger of being killing the planet trough technology.

Bradbury uses this short story as an example of great advances of technology in the future. The story is dated in the year 2026, when several people specially developed countries will have the highest technology but it does not ensure to be safe before a natural disaster or a war between two powerful countries as the short story mentioned. The story mentioned a house, which is full of high technology according to the year of the story. The house continues to make breakfast, robotic mice that clean the house and it appears that machinery and technology has triumphed over humans. The house is all robotic and there is a lack of human emotions. Technology cannot replace human emotions. From the beginning of the story one can see how efficient the house is “In the kitchen the breakfast stove gave a hissing sigh and ejected from its warm interior eight pieces of perfectly browned toast, eight eggs sunnyside up, sixteen slices of bacon, two coffees, and two cool glasses of milk” a voice informing; “Insurance is payable, as are the water, gas and light bills.” (871).

There is no either love nor emotions in the house. The house appears unique, and alive because of technology but when none is in the house the house is alone because there are not feelings on it. That is the sad part of technology, which makes not reliable when people use it as the best resource in life.

Trough the invention of cell phones, cars, plasma TV and weapons with high technology such as weapons of mass destruction humans are killing the planet. When the human develops technology more widely to make the life more easily and better it slowly destroy the earth. It is true that we can be more efficient through technology but we are damaging the earth with it. Bradbury wants to stop...
