Reliance Industries is an Indian conglomerate holding company having its headquarters in Mumbai, Maharashtra which was founded in 1973 by Dhirubhai Ambani. Reliance Industries are primarily engaged in refining and marketing activities in India and abroad. They operate in four segments mainly: Refining, petrochemicals, oil and gas and organized retail. It is the second largest publicly traded company in India by market capitalisation and the second largest company in India measured by revenue. The company is the first private sector company to feature on Fortune Global 500 list of ‘World’s largest Corporation’s’ currently ranking 114th in terms of revenue and 115th in terms of profit and continued to be featured for 11th consecutive year. .

Reliance enjoys global leadership in its businesses, being largest polyester yarn and fibre producer in the world and among the top five to ten producers in the world in major petrochemical products. Reliance industries operate world class manufacturing facilities across the country located at locations like Allahabad, Jamnagar, Nagpur, Vadodara .etc.

Reliance’s annual revenue for the financial year 2014-15 has been estimated as $62.2 billion and the net profit has amounted to $3.8 billion. Reliance has seen a 31% CAGR growth in retail business over 5 years making Reliance the largest retailer in the world. Reliance Industries also demonstrated its deep commitment to India’s growth by investing $ 16 billion in its integrated energy chain and India-centric consumer business in FY 2014-15.
