There are many risky things that individuals do on a daily basis, but the most dangerous would be driving distracted. People don’t comprehend that driving while distracted leads to accidents resulting severe injuries and in many cases even death.

I. Introductory statement

A. Tell everyone about how we are all affected by distracted drivers is one way or another.

B. Types of distracted driving

1. Texting and driving

2. Talking on the phone

3. Playing with GPS or radios

4. Distracting passengers

C. We all have to be aware of distracted drivers, by being defensive drivers. By going so we can minimize the risk of accidents.

II. Primary Supporting detail

A. Distracted drivers range in age, but tend to be the bigger problem among the teens. We have to understand that teenagers are the least experienced drivers.

B. Statistics

1. 3800 teen between the ages of 15 and 20 are killed in crashes each year from distracted drivers.

2. Over 300,000 teenagers are injured each year from these accidents.

C. According to studies, males ranging from 17 to 20 years of age are almost 10 times more likely to be killed or injured in accidents in United Kingom.

D. Drivers under the age of 20 have the highest number of accidents due to distracted driving, which has been confirmed by the CDC agency.

E. Without considering distracted driving teenagers already more likely to have an accident, so mixing the two is a deadly combination.
