Firm infrastructure

Discuss your company’s infrastructure. What company functions are associated with firm infrastructure? Discuss the organizational culture of your company. Consider such things as its decision-making process (centralized or decentralized), its degree of formalization (lots of rules or empowered employees), its working environment, etc.

the basic physical and organizational structures and facilities (e.g., buildings, roads, and power supplies) needed for the operation of a society or enterprise.

Being the technology giant that Apple is, it has the facilities to fully support the people that make Apple what it is. Apple Campus is located in Cupertino, California (http://9to5mac.com/) on 32 acres of land much resembling that of a University. In 2006 Steve Jobs announced that they would be building an Apple Campus 2, located one mile east of the original campus and is set to be completed late 2016. (http://9to5mac.com/) Tim Cook says the new Campus 2 “spaceship” style building will be the greenest building on the planet. In addition there are reports of another “spaceship” campus to be built in Silicon Valley just 5 miles from the other locations. (http://9to5mac.com) Apple is a company that structurally has grown tremendously in the last few years with buildings and operations all over the world it continues to be a powerhouse in the technology industry.

As you can see by the flow chart below it take a large group of people to make Apple run. Its organizational structure is one of the strengths of the company being a large reason to why the company is so successful.
