1. Discipline is a science because everyone has a different outcome and a different way of approaching a situation. For example, If a child is crying or upset, person A might go up and comfort the child, and try to soothe them to try and get them to stop crying. Person B however, might ignore the child and pretend they are not crying. The child might be spoiled and just want the attention, so the parent is not going to give the child that satisfaction. Different parenting styles can have different results. Whether it is discipline or positive reinforcement. Studies show that Discipline is not as effective as positive reinforcement, but that also depends on the child. The main difference between critical thinking and the scientific method is that critical thinking means to be open minded about different topics, and to think outside the box, not just a single thing. The scientific method means to follow certain steps and to find out individual answers to specific questions. Critical thinking is more free and open minded rather than the scientific method. Also, the scientific method uses specific steps, which asking a question, doing research about the question, forming a hypothesis, testing your hypothesis, analyzing your data and then recording your results. While the scientific method has a set of steps you have to follow, critical thinking involves inductive and deductive reasoning. Deductive reasoning is a form of reasoning, which starts with a hypothesis and figures out all the possible outcomes to reach a specific goal. For example, is someone said that all dogs have tails, and then they would have to prove that biologically and physically, all dogs have tails. It is logical and can be proved. On the other hand, if someone said that all girls are emotional, they wouldn’t be able to get the evidence to prove that every single girl on this planet is emotional.
