Abortion Is Unjust
In today’s society, young people, specifically teenagers, are becoming more sexually active, and therefore raising the probability of pregnancy. The end result of all these occurrences is even more pregnancies, which in turn will raise the issue that is troubling our country right now, an American’s right to have an abortion. Abortion is rapidly increasing in our country, and has yet to be addressed by our nation. Abortions most often happen when couples are not mentally or emotionally prepared to take on the responsibility in trying to raise a child and cowardly take the easy way out by having an abortion. Unfortunately, abortion is starting to becoming too much of an everyday occurrence in the United States, which is why I think abortion is unethical, immoral, and just real low.
Sixteen year old Brianne, a student in high school took the easy way out and chose to abort her unborn child.[i] She was having relations with a male much older than her, constantly thinking that no harm was going to be done to her. Next thing she knew, she was taking a pregnancy test and became speechless when she found the results were positive. It felt like the world turned upside down, and you were hit in the face with a ton of bricks. Abortion was the only way to keep her unplanned pregnancy a secret from her parents and friends, who would strongly disapprove any thought of early pregnancy. So the both of them decided to opt out and take the easier choice and proceed with the abortion. In the beginning stages, both had no regrets, doubts, or worries because both teenagers felt they were making the right decision in going through with the abortion, trying to get rid of any responsibilities they would have to take with their pregnancy.
As it is starting to get closer to the day of the operation, Brianne is now starting to have second thoughts about having her abortion, especially for the reasons she chose. She went back to her high school, observing...
