HCS 451 Healthcare Quality Management and Outcomes Analysis

In the healthcare industry, Americans are beginning to understand what quality of health involves and how one should seek those qualities. Healthcare quality is measured differently from one person to another. From experience, healthcare quality focuses on the type of services received, the location, costs, hospital/doctor affiliation, insurance coverage and or status and accessibility. Healthcare quality can also be measured by errors, income or the lack of attention and the continuity of care that patients receive or not receive from his or her healthcare provider. This paper will highlight the event that resulted in a one month hospital experience for Jacqueline. The paper will tell why the Arlington hospital’s quality services rated outstanding and why this experience met the needs and quality of care for Jacqueline.

Event

In late February 2005, Jacqueline had experienced rapid and frequent headaches. As time went by, Jacqueline thought that it was due to stress, medication and or illness due to Lupus – which all has association to this disease. As the weeks passed, Jacqueline experienced a more serious headache that lead to high blood pressure and a moment of blurred vision. As a result, Jacqueline could no longer focus because of the excruciating pain stemming from the headache.

Therefore, Jacqueline had requested to her husband that she seek medical attention. Immediately rushed to the emergency room of the Arlington hospital, where Jacqueline was seen quickly as the triage nurses took vital signs. The vital signs showed a very high pressure where the nurse immediately escorted me to the examining room. Upon entering the examining room, Jacqueline was given intravenously medication for pain. After which, the doctor pursued with questioning of how long Jacqueline had experienced the headaches...
