The Searchers

There are many different ways that this movie could have ended. The way the writer left it was open ended to what could come next and leaving it open if they wanted to do a second one. If I was the writer of the movie I would have done the ending differently or even made another movie from it. Here one way I would have concluded the movie.

Ethan, Martin and Debbie return to the home of the Jorgensen’s. Everyone appears to be happy to see them all home save. Everyone goes in the house except Ethan who stands in the doorway unsure if he would like to stay or go. He looks in and sees how happy everyone is and starts to feel inside like maybe settling down is what he would like. Then he turns and looks off into the distance and sees the open space and no one to answer to. After a couple of minutes Debbie goes out to him and asks him to stay as he is the only real family that she has left. He decides that he will grant her that wish and stay around. A couple months goes by Laurie still trying to get her life started with Martin. Debbie starts to realize what men are all about and starts to have feelings for Martin. At first she does not left on to anyone about any of this. As time goes on though she does not like seeing Martin and Laurie together and becomes jealous. Mrs. Jorgensen’s starts to sense that Debbie is starting to have feelings for Martin and questions her about it. During the conversation with Debbie, Laurie was listening where no one could see her. She left before she heard Debbie denying it. Laurie was so upset she went to Martin and told him that she wished that Debbie never came back and all she keeps doing to their relationship is causing problems. Martin was upset by this and started to defend Debbie to Laurie. Laurie got even more angry with the situation. Night came and Laurie thought everyone was asleep. She went and grabbed a gun and walked to the room where Debbie was. Debbie woke up and saw Laurie there with the gun and...
