Paragraph #1:

Within the United States there has been an increase in nutritional exposure to both adults as well as children. Specifically there have been multiple videos and programs around this nation that has been centered on promoting nutrition and healthy living for children. These programs and videos are targeted at children who are obese and are at risk of becoming obese. Members of the National Association of Country and City Health Officials noted “by both improving dietary intake and reducing food insecurity, participation in the federal nutrition programs plays a critical role in obesity prevention. For this reason, increasing participation in the federal nutrition programs is a childhood obesity prevention strategy recommended by two recent Institute of Medicine (IOM) committees and the White House Task Force on Childhood Obesity (Obesity in Children)”.

Paragraph #2:

There are plenty or reasons why children are the most obese in the U.S than in any other country. “Although most overweight children have a familial form of obesity, with 1 or 2 obese parents, excess weight gain in obese children clearly depends on both genetic and environmental factors. Correlations between parent and child habitus likely reflect, at least in part, the familial patterns of food intake, exercise, and selection of leisure activity (including amount of television watching), as well as familial and cultural patterns of food selection. (CDC)”. Psychological factors have a great influence to why a child might be obese. As a child progresses from infancy to adolescence, there are many life-changing events that occur that can take a tole on their physical physique all together. Whether its peer pressure at school, puberty, or simply a lack of confidence that they may have, these factors all contribute to the possible matriculation on childhood obesity.
