Change can impact leadership at work by inspiring team members and getting them excited about their future in the company, by allowing new ideas to be considered rather than focusing on old, outdated ideas, and by measuring standards which leads to improvement of standards. It is easy to go to work daily and get caught in the motions. Change in a company can reawaken employees who have gone into autopilot mode; giving them a hope for the future and a new lease on their jobs. According to Change Leadership, “It is those organizations that have continually transformed themselves to meet the new business challenges that have endured, whilst the also-ran’s legacy is confined to the history books,” (Orridge, 2009, pp.xiii-xiv). It is equally easy to focus on an old idea so closely that you can miss the new ideas entirely. While it is unnerving to let go of an idea that you have been working on for years, it is better to consider the new ideas and move forward in that direction, than to be tied to an idea that just is not working. Finally, change inspires control. With new leadership tactics, comes the need for monitoring of the new systems. As we are monitoring standards and comparing them against ideal standards, we will begin to improve and enforce the new standard. Constant monitoring leads to successful businesses…………………………………………
