Bring me the Horizon

There is a countless number of bands and artists in this world. But one specific band caught my ear the first time I heard them. I was at a friends house, and music was playing in her room. A song came on, and I could not help but to fall in love with it. I questioned who the band playing was, and she said their name was Bring Me The Horizon. I went straight home and bought all of their albums on itunes and have been idolizing them ever since.

The band Bring Me The Horizon is a British metalcore band formed in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England in 2004. Their band consists of Oliver Sykes on vocals, Lee Malia on lead guitar, Jona Weinhofen on rhythm guitar, Matt Kean on bass, Matt Nicholls on drums, and former member Curtis Ward on rhythm guitar who left the band in 2008. They have released three studio albums and an EP. Their first EP, titled "This Is What The Edge Of Your Seat Was Made For" came out on January 20th, 2005 through Visible Noise records, containing four songs. This album peaked at 41 on the UK charts. The band's third full-length album, titles “There Is a Hell, Believe Me I’ve Seen It. There Is a Heaven, Let’s Keep It a Secret”, which was released October 5th, 2010 with twelve songs, and according to Sykes, “experimented with different sonic textures by incorporating electronic and symphonic influences with more emphasis on melody”. The album as well included an array of guest musicians to contribute, some were from outside the scene too. Even if you detested the band’s very being, credit was due for the band’s “adventure in a genre not known for its dexterity”, even if the execution was lacking. The record’s success, in turn, signed Bring Me the Horizon to a major label, RCA, for their fourth album Sempiternal.
