1. Why do you think the cinema has one of the most popular and powerful means of mass communication today?

-Cinema can influence many moviegoers in decision making, thinking, mood, views and etc… Every theme of a film has a different impact or influence on the audience for example a romantic film gives you a romantic influence, it may give you some tips on how to persuade the one you love.

2. Explain the following:

a. Maganda and maputi- Many of Filipinos are attracts or idolized the mestizo and mestiza actors.

b. Masaya ang may palabas- Filipinos become entertained when they see scandals, cat fights, fight scenes or hearing swearings.

c. Mabuti and inaapi- Many of today’s and past films center on a person who’s been oppressed and win at the end of the story. We develop a better notion on the person that been oppressed. Therefore Filipino believes the person who always been oppressed win at the end.

d. Maganda pa ang daigdig- Being the underdog is good, for in the end, you’ll get your reward, and the fate will be side to you. And they will have their revenge to their oppressors.

3. Do you agree that the principal values found in most Filipino movies today are negative? Explain your answer.

-Yes because today’s Filipino films depicts that it’s okay on having an affair, many children or youths can think or believe that it is acceptable on society.

4. Cite some of the standards of beauty in the Philippines. Substantiate your answers with examples.

-Filipino’s found women with bottle shape body, sharp nose and white skin to be beautiful and many of actresses here in the Philippines have that characteristics.

5. What kind of entertainment do most Filipinos find enjoyable? What are some of the ingredients necessary for a film to be regarded or entertaining?

-Filipinos always go watching a comedic film with a exaggerated stories. Ridiculous plot with a famous actor.
