After reading Monitoring employees on networks, I think that e-mail benefit an organization by monitoring emails. I don’t think that there is anything wrong with monitoring e-mail because if this was not happening work would not be getting done. Also lawsuit can happened depending on the emails that are sent out. Organization may want to limit how an employee uses emails during work hours due to the fact that work should be getting done and it can be lost revenue or overbilling.

When an email leaves an organization it has the name of the organization on it and it is being monitor. It is being monitored by the IT department where the email was sent and the email is saved on file for records. When using instant messaging it is an easier way to communicate and not be monitor as fast as and email. There is a drawback because your chats can be saved on file and you may not even know it. View web pages and search engine can be a great benefit for an organization as long as it is use for the right reason as of work related. There are some draws back though like lost of job, organization getting hit with a lawsuit if the web is use in the wrong way.

I have to say that a manager should monitor employee email and internet usage. Because you are there to work and if some go wrong the law comes in play. Secret information can be leaked out if monitoring was not going as will. So I think that it is a good idea for this to happen.
