Executive Summary

This report is mainly focused on the Jetstar Budget Airway and how to develop company goals in the future. First started with introduction and it refers how budget airways are popular among the lower to middle income families for transportation and about some Jetstar facts. Second is PEST analysis is a common tool for analyzing an organization macro-environment to identify those factors that might increase the potential for crisis. Political, Economic, Social and Technological factors are included. Thirdly, Porter’s Five Forces is provided which includes threat of new entrants, threats of intense competitors (rivalry), threat of substitute products, threat of bargaining power of buyers and threat of bargaining power of suppliers. The fourth one is SWOT analysis and it is the deep examination of key points, which are internal factors (strength and weakness) and external factors (Threats and Opportunities). Lastly, it is a recommendation for Jetstar to meet further goals and a few specific facts such as mission statement, set of specific goals, and strategic action plan with specific details. Referencing list is followed after all these factors finished.

Introduction

Nowadays, many of the budget airlines are rapidly popular over the lower to middle income families for transportation. Budget airlines are entirely unlike to traditional airlines by accepting low fares in the air manufacturing. But on the other hands, it got expensive overheads like foods and beverages, only running with the same type of airplanes to reduce maintenance, renovation costs and training costs, flying to airports without expensive landing fees, customers met lots of enormous savings when flying with budget airlines. The Jetstar budget airway is a group of value-based carriers providing all day every day low fares across Australia, New Zealand and the Asia Pacific region. (Jetstar Airway, 2013)
