Reflective essay OB

Attending the OB workshop gave me an opportunity to not only interact with my team but understand each of them to a much greater extent. We had already met a couple of times before and were familiar with each other. I already knew two of my team mates who are from my same college and are here on student exchange. I would like to start off by saying that this work shop made a significant impact in improving my team working skills. I learnt a great deal about my new group. I realised that we were more interdependent as a team than I previously thought. I was previously under the belief that the members were replaceable. Here I found that Nikhil was very resourceful, Anupama was very creative and Loic was diligent and industrious. I myself have a very analytical mind-set. I consider myself as sceptical empiricist. I realised that we had qualities which were complementary in nature. After the work shop we decided to give each of the member’s specified roles in the project. We also decided that from subsequent meetings each of us would write down the solutions to the problem before the meeting. This would prevent the problem of group think. The next thing I wanted to know wash whether my perception to the team contribution and my team mates perception were the same. So we discussed that with all members of the group. Surprisingly everyone was on the same page as far the contribution to the group was concerned. All of us agreed that the work was split equally among all the members and every member completed their respective parts successfully and met expected standards. Another aspect which I noticed about the team was that each of monitored what the other person was doing. This I felt was the reason why we were so efficient as team. There was always a right amount of pressure. I think the group was generally satisfied and all the hygiene factors are there.
