Below I want to explain the different networks that exist and which one we will be creating for your business.
PAN- personal area network. A PAN is a small network typically no larger than an area of 10 meters. I consists of a mobile device that utilizes a network to send or receive files via email, check a calendar or transfer music and photos. PANs are linked either wirelessly or with cables.
LAN- local area network. A LAN is a network that is supplied to a group of computers like what you would find in an office. Users in a LAN can share files among each other and print from the same printer. Ethernet or Wi-Fi is the connection. Individual LANs work alone or they can link up with other LANs.
HAN- home area network. A HAN is a type of LAN which provides a means of communication between digital devices and peripherals within one’s home. Devices are smart devices.
WAN- wide area network. A WAN can span the entire planet. The Internet is the largest WAN available connecting continent to continent. WAN is a global collection of many LANs by each individual LAN router. From LAN router to router the WAN is created.
Of course we will be working with a LAN for your business network.
Here are the two ways that networks operate once established. In order for you to understand why I suggest setting up the way I described, it is good for you to understand the way these networks operate. P2P is the necessary network configuration that your store will benefit the most from. No need for an expensive client/server network.
