Comfort-eater reveals how she ditched 10 stone AND her husband after he called her a ‘fat cow’ and accused her of only losing weight from her ankles

A former size 30 comfort-eater has told how she ditched her husband and lost more than 10 stone after he called her a ‘fat cow’ and made her sleep on the sofa so he had more room in bed.

Jen Ault, 35, from Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire, who once weighed 22st 4lbs, claims she divorced her ex Andy, 37, because he made cruel jibes about her weight.

The mother-of-one shed nearly five stone, but dumped her ‘unsupportive’ husband after he said she must have only lost the weight from around her ankles – and she has since dieted to shrink to a size eight.

Jen, who now weighs 12 stone, said: ‘Andy used to make me feel so embarrassed and ashamed because of my weight.

‘When he bought me a watch he said, “Make sure you can fit this around your fat wrists so you don’t break it”.

‘The more he put me down, the more I turned to food for comfort.

‘The breaking point came when he called me a ‘fat cow’ after I told him how upsetting I found his remarks.’

Now a size eight, Jen is enjoying life with her son Ben, 11, and boyfriend Stuart Eggleshaw, 44.

Speaking about her new relationship, Jen said: ‘Stuart makes me feel like a million dollars, and he’s supported me every step of my weight loss journey.

‘He lost more than 22st in 16 months himself, so I know that he understood my struggle.’

Jen, a full-time carer for her autistic son, struggled with her size from an early age – reaching 18 stone by age 20.
