Organizational Behavior and Communication Paper

An organization that has a light hearted theme and that everyone knows no matter where one lives is the Walt Disney Company. Walt Disney has been around for many years, it was created in 1923 by two brothers who had little besides each other. Walt and Roy Disney had a dream and determination to begin something they never thought would be so huge as it is today. Their goal was “to make people happy” (Business Resource Software, Inc, 2010) and that they have done for eight decades. Walt Disney Company’s philosophy, mission, vision, and values are still inline today as they were nearly 80 years ago.

“From the beginning, starting with Walt Disney, we have had five things that make me proud to be part of this Company: high-quality products, optimism for the future, great storytelling, an emphasis on family entertainment and great talent, passion and dedication from our Cast Members" (Sklar, 2010). As Marty Sklar described the culture of Walt Disney Company, it is easy to see that the employees and executives of the organization still hold dear their founding fathers culture and philosophies that began so many years ago. When visiting a Walt Disney park or store one immediately feels an enormous amount of happiness and acceptance because of the deep rooted philosophy, mission, vision and values that the employees of each entity or affiliate holds themselves to. Pride is taken when choosing to obtain employment at any entity or affiliate of Walt Disney, this has to do with the great amounts of pride and determination that the two brothers had when beginning the company so many years ago.

There are few companies that come to mind when looking at large companies that don’t have tarnished recognitions. Walt Disney Company works hard to keep the name in good standing and recognized by all families as somewhere each want to go at least once in their lifetimes.
