Terrorism is troubling. There are many forms of terrorism, and incidents of terrorism have been occurring since Jesus Christ walked this earth. The reasons for terrorism have changed over time and have occurred for different reasons. In the past, people fought for secular and moral reasons. Some of these terroristic activities brought new beliefs and ideas, similar to what war does. Unlike the terrorism that occurred in the past, today, radical religious people are killing others for the sake of religious beliefs and complete control over nations. While we live in a society that gives everyone the ability to speak freely about their choices this ability is being removed rather quickly because of fear. Terrorism terrorizes people into a state of panic and disorganization.

During the French Revolutionary War, the French were ruled by upper-class people who chose not to pay taxes. No taxes were paid by upper-class people while the lower and middle-class people suffered from starvation. The French revolted and formed a new government that disseminated the class of people based on money. The new government began state terrorism. The use of state terrorism came about as a way to terrorize the population underneath the government's control.

The word terrorism came about during this period. A British political philosopher, Edmund Burke, coined the radicalized new government as a terroristic form of government (White, 2013).The new form of government was considered a terroristic type of government because of the amount of legal and illegal executions that took place while it's time in power. Thousands upon hundred thousands of people died in the hands of the newly radicalized government (White, 2013). These extremists believed that they only way to reform government was to destroy it. These extremist became examples to those that use violence for political ends today.

The American Revolutionary war came because of the fight for independence from Great Britain....
