Code of Ethics

When creating and writing a code of ethics it is important to cover all the aspects of the organization. A code of ethics is a guideline for an organization when it comes to the way employees are treated and a guide for when it comes to decision making. “This can help to create a cohesive understanding of the boundaries within an organization and the standards set for interacting with external stakeholders” (Importance of Creating a Code of Ethics for a Business | Chron.com," n.d.). When writing the code of ethics I included the following topics which included the general policy regarding the laws, how the organization treats their employees, how the employees conduct themselves during work situations, how to interact with the customers, health and safety, and internet security.

When writing the code of ethics I included the topic that lays out the general policy that regards the laws of the organization. “The purpose of this General Policy Regarding Laws and Business Conduct is to provide a general statement regarding the Company's requirements as to the legal and ethical nature of conduct of the Company's Directors, Employees and Legal Agents” (General policy regarding laws and business conduct," n.d.). Under the general law it should state that the organization will provide equal opportunity to its employees regardless of their race, ethnicity, and other statuses. For example in the code of ethics that I had written I said that the company will provide equal employment opportunity and treatment regardless of race, religion, marital status, sexual orientation, arrest or conviction record, color, sex, age, national origin, handicap, veteran status, or others statuses protected by law.

The next section of a code of ethics should state how the company will treat their employees. In this section employee like to know that they will be treated fairly in their jobs by their employers. Organizations that treat their...
