Pros and Cons of an Online Examination System

I. Research Design

The descriptive method of the proposed study will used for this project. To define the descriptive type of research in the proposed system, Creswell (1994) stated that the descriptive method of research is to gather information about the present existing condition

In this disquisition, the descriptive research method of the proposed study was employed so as to identify the advantages and disadvantages of online examination system of the students in Informatics Manila. The proponents opted to use this method considering the objective to obtain first hand data from the perception of the respondents who will be affected by the implementation of the said system. The descriptive method is advantageous for the proponents due to its flexibility; this method can use either qualitative or quantitative data or both, giving the proponents greater options in selecting the instrument for data-gathering. The aim of the project is to determine the system’s error for its development; the descriptive method is then appropriate for this research since this method is used for gathering prevailing conditions.  

The study will use surveying and interviewing to gather the data and to be knowledgeable about on what to improve or not to improve on the current examination methods used; the descriptive method is then appropriate as this can allow the identification of the positive and negative use of features in the system.

II. Research Locale

The proponents of the study gathered data and information on Informatics College Manila. This is to eliminate insignificant data for the research and the possible implementation of the system is for the said institution only.

Students from the institution are surveyed and interviewed to assess what are the individual responses on implementing an Online Examination System for Informatics Manila.
