Secret of Sleep and Snap

How much time do you need to sleep to ensure an energetic day? According to my experience, it is how you manage your sleep matters. Follow the following instructions you could have an energetic day even you sleep few hours. 1) Follow the nature; 2) Multi phase sleep; 3) Listen to your body.

 

1)       Follow the nature

There are 2 nature rules which I follow. Rule No. 1: Go sleep between 22:00 to 23:00.

People feel sleepy during 22:00-23:00. After 23:00, we turn from calm down to exciting and are not easy to fall asleep. The next sleepy window will be 02:30-03:30. I have tried both sleepy windows and I find I need less sleeping hours if I go to bed between 22:00 to 23:00.

 

Rule no. 2: Set morning alarm in multiples of 90 minutes. (e.g. 3 hours, 4.5 hours, 6 hours)

A full cycle of sleep is around 90 minutes as I learnt from research. If you are forced to get up when the cycle is incomplete, you feel bad. I have observed my 2-years old son, he usually woke up after 3 hours sleep to cry for his mother. I also experienced nature wake up which follows the multiples of 90 minutes principle.

 

2)       Multi phase sleep

Plan the day snap, If you sleep really few. 20 minutes for each snap is enough. In my case, it is around 18 minutes. Below table listed some samples.

3)       Listen to your body

Check the body condition is very important. If I have a long distance run exercise for preparing Marathon in the morning, I will plan a 7.5 hour sleep that night. If I feel very tired, I will plan some day of the week to have a longer sleep.
