My Future Career
For my future career I want to be a detective or private investigator. They make a whole lot of money and it’ll also be in something that I love doing and enjoy. I am really good when it comes to figuring things out from an amount of evidence. I even take a lot of classes now in school that teaches me more about the field. Also, most of my family is in the law enforcement and criminal justice field so they could always help me whenever I need it. It is a very interesting a fun field and I would encourage everyone to do it.
Another perk in this job is that you don’t have to stay in one spot all day long whenever you are working. I watch shows like NCIS, Snapped, and Law & Order to get entertained on how the process goes for them to get the case done. For this occupation, you would have to be all over depending on the case you have. Private investigators could spy on someone who they think is an aspect to the case and follow them around. One of my favorite parts of the process is the one on one interview with the victims to add up the stories and make the case make sense.
To become a private investigator or detective really isn’t all that hard to do if you really want to do it. All they really require is a high school diploma and a few years’ experience in a similar field like a police officer would count. Detectives make more than a private investigator does because they are similar but are not the same thing. You could be a private investigator for less than five years and use that as your experience to become a detective. Although, some firms that you apply for may require 2-4 years of college, to me, that is not bad at all to do something I love doing for about $46,000 a year.
