SWOT ANALYSIS FOR SANDWICH BLITZ

STRENGTHS

ESTABLISHED BUSINESS – One of the strengths of Sandwich Blitz is already being established in the community. Being established allows your name recognition to follow you to any new location, as long as the name recognition is good in your current community.

NOT A FRANCHISE – Right now, Sandwich Blitz isn’t a franchise and is small enough to be flexible with menu items to allow managers to be customer-centric.

REAL ESTATE – Since there is a “downturn” in the occupancy rates in the office parks where they traditionally open their stores, opening a new store, in a new community, could prove advantageous. Getting in early would allow for them to get a foothold on the office park in advance of the cyclical economic situation. Low occupancy rates could allow the team to negotiate lower, longer term lease rates. The old adage of “location, location, location” plays true with Sandwich Blitz here.

MONEY TALKS – In addition to the downturn in the commercial leasing rates, right now Sandwich Blitz is in a strong position to open new stores due to their current cash flow situation.

WEAKNESSES

MOVING IN ON THE COMPETITION – Sandwich Blitz is new. The two other competitive stores are already established and could be fully entrenched in their communities. Opening a new store could prove catastrophic for Sandwich Blitz.

REAL ESTATE – Since there is a “downturn” in the occupancy rates in the office parks where they traditionally open their stores, opening a new store, in a new community, might not be the most indicative sign of success or failure of their store. The old adage of “location, location, location” plays true with Sandwich Blitz here.
