Students will learn about process innovation.

Instructions

 This individual assignment consists of 1 task which carries a total of 30 marks.

 Compile your solutions in this assignment and submit as a

o Softcopy through OLIVE by 15th Jan 2016 (Fri).

o Hardcopy to your tutor in the following week lab session (18-22 Jan

2016). The hardcopy submission must be accompanied by a signed

“Declaration of Originality” form.

 Late submission of work will be penalized based on 2 marks per day. Refer to the assessment rubric for the marking criteria.

Question (15% = 30 Marks): Process Innovation

In simple terms, process innovation is about creating or improving methods of production, service or administrative operations to significantly enhance the organizational efficiency and responsiveness. Process innovation may include introducing or integrating new/improved techniques, equipment and/or technologies that lead to vastly improved efficiency, quality, or time-to-market.

Select and research on one of the following areas in Singapore:

i. Healthcare ii. Housing

iii. Public Service iv. Recreation

v. Retail (Supermarket)

Describe an example of process innovation in your chosen area, with elaboration on the process before and after innovation, as well as the benefits from the process innovation.

Each student shall produce a 2-page type-written essay using font size 12 (Times New Roman or Arial) with 1.5 line spacing and include a list of references used. Any relevant pictures or diagrams may be included too.
