Art takes form in many, shapes and sizes from cave paintings and carving, sculptures, elaborate paintings to the modern day digital photography. The earliest known works of art, petroglyphs, found in India, have been dated somewhere from 290,000 - 700,000 B.C.E. Art’s evolution has continued to grow non-stop throughout the world and through various forms.
Located on the first floor in the 22nd room of the Sully wing in the Louvre Museum in Paris, France, a still sitting sculpture can be found. A man, sitting cross-legged is holding an almost completely open white scroll to indicate he was working. This sculpture is called the “Seated Scribe” and has been dated back to 3800 - 1710 BC. Three adjectives to describe this sculpture would be working, educated and important because in Ancient Egypt, people who were educated were important as they could read and write and were useful to the royal families making them important.
