Assignment #1

I remember growing up I wasn’t much of a reader. Even in High School I remember reading only what I had to read just to get by. I remember my wife (Girlfriend at the time) always telling me I should read more or she would buy me a book to try and get me to read. I remember her buying me a Christopher Pike book, I think is was called Witches. Pretty good book, I really enjoyed reading it. It was such a long time ago I don’t remember much of the story. I think it was about some kid that woke up one morning and realized he was all alone. The town was completely empty like a ghost town and he was trying to figure out what was going on.

Since then, I’ve bought several books that I have never really read. I would always start reading it but I would never finish. For me since I’m always on the go it’s hard for me to carry a book around. Also finding the time to read wasn’t easy. I would try to read in bed before I go to sleep but I wasn’t consistent enough. Also, aside from being with work I’m always running around with the kids for either wrestling or karate practice. I really find it difficult to carry a book everywhere I go. I always seem to read more things like magazines or short stories. Since I was a competitive power lifter for so many years I would find myself reading a lot of training and health articles. I also read plenty of design articles that are related more to my field of profession.

About a few months before Christmas, I bought myself on Ipad. I really found the solution to my non reading habits…lol I have to say, I do love my Ipad. Ever since I’ve had my Ipad I can’t stop reading. It’s a great feeling to finally find a way I can enjoy reading a good book. Its easy to carry and always in my briefcase.
