As you can see in this short clip, bullying someone is not a laughing matter. It can destroy the victim mentally and physically. According to my audience analysis, many of you said that it can damage one’s self-esteem , loss of self-worth, and take a physical toll on their body, which is very true. Of the 13 people that responsed 11 of you also stated that at some point in your life you have felt bullied. I myself have also been felt bullied, such as being a victim of rumors and name calling. ++++I have also done though research on this subject in referencing websites such as Bullyingstatistics.org, nobullying.com, and cyberbullyhotline.com.

In this speech im going to cover the many problems of bullying in our schools today and solutions to prevent bullying from becoming a major issue in schools systems. Bullying in our schools is a problem that can be solved through awareness and intervention. So, let’s first turn our attention to some of the many problems of bullying in schools.

Many teenagers have committed suicide because of excessive bullying inside and outside of school. Bullyingstatistics.org states that bully victims are 2 to 9 times more likely to consider suicide than non-victims or inflict self-harm onto themselves, according to studies by Yale University. A study in Britain also found that at least half of suicides among young people are related to bullying. Such was true for Phoebe Prince, who was a 15-year old irish immigrant. She was exposed to excessive bullying. She was called an “Irish slut” and whore on Twitter, Facebook, Craigslist, and in person at school. Pheobe ending up hanging herself. Even after her death, girls were still leaving vicious messages about her on Facebook. This story goes to show the impact
